Essential Duties The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform. • Supervises the care of collections and collection staff and volunteers. • Interprets objects through exhibits, public programs and publications. • Develops and maintains collections policies and procedures. • Conserves the collections and conducts research on all objects including provenance and history. • Research and install art and history exhibits annually • Gives presentations and works with general public and donors regarding objects Minimum Qualifications Requires a Master’s degree in Museum Studies, Collections Management, Material Culture, Public History, Art, Art History or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Must be computer literate with a knowledge of data base management. Must have the ability to work collaboratively and provide team leadership and an understanding of artifact conservation issues and practices. The candidate selected must undergo and successfully pass a drug screening test prior to employment. MINIMUM PHYSICAL OR ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must be able to work varying work schedules between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday thru Friday and must have the physical ability to lift and move artifacts.
