Oak View is now advertising for a Park Aide – Education (part-time). This person will be employed a maximum of 20 hours/week and is expected to work one weekend per month (but sometimes two weekends in months with large special events that require more staff). Hiring Range is $8.19–$10/hour, commensurate with educational background and job-related experience. All employees must have some weekday morning availability (8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.) to fulfill the educational programming requirements. Primary duties for a Park Aide – Education include providing educational programming for elementary school children and tours for audiences of all ages; welcoming visitors and sharing park information; assisting with special events; helping to maintain the park and its livestock (goats and chickens); and opening and closing the park and its buildings. Minimum qualifications include enrollment or completion of a B.A. program in History, Public History or Education. Preferred qualifications include enrollment in a Master's program in History or Public History. Experience working with children or experience providing educational programs in a museum/historic site setting is a plus.
