Spring 2018 or Summer 2018 internships are available at Historic Stagville. Stagville State Historic Site is a portion of one of the largest plantations in the state of North Carolina. By 1860, the slaveholding family owned nearly 30,000 acres of land, and claimed ownership over more than 900 enslaved people. Stagville interns can learn and develop skills in Public Speaking, Program Development, Education, Collections, Research, and Publicity. Each intern completes an individual project, and also participates in education or public history programs on-site. Stagville welcomes undergraduate and graduate interns, and internships are unpaid.
